Children certainly don’t get as much outdoor time anymore.   According to current research, children who live near green spaces tend to have a lower likelihood of being obese than those who do not.

Fact: One in four children does not participate in any free time physical activity.

Fact: The favorite pastime for most children is watching TV, with an average daily consumption of 4.5 hours.

Fact: Children spend an average of 7.5 hours using 10.5 hours’ worth of media entertainment (that means they are using two or more devices at once!).

Fact:  Green space can help encourage outdoor activity.
