August 26th

Did you know that Aug. 26 is National Dog Day? It’s a day set aside to recognize the number of dogs that need to be rescued each year, just like TurfMutt was! It also acknowledges family dogs and work dogs that save lives, keep us safe and bring comfort.

National Dog Day is a reminder of the number of dogs that need to be rescued.

TurfMutt went from stray dog to super dog when he was rescued by Kris Kiser, President and CEO of the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute (OPEI). Since then, TurfMutt has become a working dog and the mascot of Discovery Education’s TurfMutt program, which has helped educate nearly a million students about the great outdoors!
