Molly the rescue dog

A heart-warming Lucky Dog episode with tips from TurfMutt will air this Saturday, May 5. This episode features a rescue Chihuahua mix named Molly. Molly is a former street dog – just like TurfMutt – who has a second chance at a forever home in Thousand Oaks, California.

During the show, the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute’s (OPEI) Kris Kiser (TurfMutt’s human) pays a visit to Molly’s prospective new home. While he’s there, he’ll check to see if the yard is suitable for a new pet.

Watch to learn why turfgrass is better for dogs than hardscaping. You’ll also see Kris manage a backyard makeover that will add flowering plants and colorful, textured living landscape. The plants will not only help hold the soil in place, but they will also attract insects, birds, butterflies and other pollinators to the yard. A drip irrigation system – a great way to conserve precious water in California! – is also installed.

Tune in to see the “before” and “after” of Molly’s new yard (and to see the transformation of Molly herself!). Click here to find out what time Lucky Dog airs in your market. To learn more about the benefits of living landscapes for people, pets and the environment, go to SaveLivingLandscapes.com.
