Our living landscapes play a vital role in the health of our environment, our communities, and our families. Living landscapes – including our lawns, yards and gardens; community parks; managed landscapes around commercial and municipal buildings; and other green space provide many benefits.

Here are just a few of the reasons TurfMutt loves living landscapes, and why we should all do our part to keep them healthy.

Living landscapes…

  • Provide a safe place for kids and pets to play
  • Reduce stress and improve overall health and wellbeing
  • Create necessary habitat for birds, insects and animals
  • Produce oxygen and sequestering carbon
  • Capture and filter rainwater, as well as storm-water run-off
  • Capture dust & particulate matter
  • Reduce heat and the heat island effect
  • Act as a natural fire-break
  • Control soil erosion

But don’t just take TurfMutt’s word for it! Check out the just-updated Living Landscapes Fact Book. You’ll see a host of scientific reasons why living landscapes are good for the planet, people and pets.
