TurfMutt sitting under a tree

TurfMutt loves living landscapes! They are good for people and the environment. (Check out some of the little-known benefits of you grass, trees and other plants.)

TurfMutt wants to inspire your child to be a backyard superhero like him and the Outdoor Powers! Check out this Plant Hunt activity sheet. It helps kids learn more about the types of plants that grow in your community.

To complete the activity, kids observe the plants in your own backyard or neighborhood. They journal what they find in their “Nature Notebook.” They can draw a picture of the plant, describe it, and identify whether it is native, adapted, both or neither.

This is just one of the many ways TurfMutt inspires kids to learn about and interact with the green spaces around them. Check out TurfMutt.com for more downloadable activity sheets, digital storybooks, an interactive game and more.
