TurfMutt, Kris Kiser and Dottie

TurfMutt has an exciting life helping teach kids and families about the importance of living landscapes. In real life, he even gets to go to an office most days when he’s not traveling to schools to encourage kids to become backyard superheros just like him.

On last week’s episode of Lucky Dog, TurfMutt got a new pup pal. Her name is Dottie and she’s a senior dog that now has the chance to live out her golden years as an office- and travel-mate to TurfMutt.

But before she can embrace this new role, she has to learn office etiquette and a love for travel. How will trainer Brandon McMillan teach this old dog new tricks? Watch the archived episode to find out.

During the show you will also get some important tips about your own living landscapes. Trees and grass provide shade and a safe place for pets and kids to play. They also help capture carbon dioxide, trap and filter rainwater and fight heat.

For a well-rounded lawn that benefits your pets, family and the environment follow these TurfMutt approved tips.

  • Choose the right grass and plants for your climate.
  • Water your lawn just enough to help it grow strong roots.
  • Incorporate flowering plants to help pollinators and other insects.
