In part 2 of our “Green Ideas” Series, we wanted to talk about green on the rooftop.
In many parts of the world, urban landscapes aren’t devoid of green at all. You might have to climb tall buildings like Superman to find them. But they are there, contributing to a significant cooling effect throughout the hotter months of the year.
Rooftop gardens are quite popular in New York City, for instance. If you haven’t been there, visit the High Line, a converted train line that is now an elevated park with loads of gardenscapes. It’s even open in the winter time from 7 am to 7 pm. You needn’t have a huge yard to enjoy nature, just a good design and some plants to frame it!
Where’s your favorite green space where you live?
